With an affinity for natural materials and a nod toward the modern, the client wanted to update her kitchen and unify the living spaces on the main floor of her tri-level home. An odd arrangement of cabinets and appliances were replaced by a purposeful L shape design for the main work area and the refrigerator was moved to an adjacent wall and surrounded by floor to ceiling cabinets for added storage and to downplay the visual presence of the appliances. Tongue and Groove Fir ceilings were used to homogenize the ceiling and add a visual warmth throughout the main floor. Use of Rustic Alder cabinets were balanced with a modern touch of glass subway tiles.
